Laser Safety

Please contact the Laser Safety Officer at (989) 774-4189 if you plan to ​purchase a Class 3B or 4 laser.

The Central Michigan University Laser Safety Committee (LSC) consists of faculty and staff who have been delegated responsibility for laser health, safety, and compliance at the University. The LSC, along with all individuals who use lasers, are responsible for safe use of lasers. LSC member responsibilities include the following:

1. Provide input on laser safety policy, forms, and procedures.

2. Provide input to and from various departments.

3. Review and audit the laser safety program on a regular basis.
